Treg compliance and automation gaps
Problem
Users view Treg as an OpenRouter-like aggregator for tool APIs, but are constrained by providers' Terms of Service compliance, uncertain x402 payment protocol support, and lack of stateful features such as webhooks, signals, and schedules, hindering production-ready GTM automation.
Pain points
- Many providers' Terms of Service legally prohibit this use, creating compliance risk.
- Uncertainty about actual x402 protocol support and chain compatibility, requiring verification.
- Concern that providers may shut down the service, raising sustainability worries.
- Need for self-hosted solutions or lower barrier to entry.
- Lack of stateful features (webhooks, signals, schedules) limits full automation capability.
Questions to verify
- Do the tool providers' Terms of Service actually prohibit this kind of aggregation? Are there compliant alternatives?
- What is the actual support status of the x402 payment protocol in Treg? Which blockchains are supported?
- How sustainable is the Treg service long-term? Are there self-hosted options to mitigate provider shutdown risk?

It’s cool, but none of the T&Cs of those providers legally allow for this. There’s a market for that, but heads up.

Have not tried yet, but did see in the readme it supports x402 protocol for payments, that’s nice. 1) double checking whether it actually does, does it? 2) Which chains are supported, and how’s the x402 being handled - your service self hosted or third party?

Seems too good to be true, open-source, supports many free tools, the only part that I'm concerned about is how long will the website be up, because I bet some of those providers are not gonna appreciate it

I am self hosting treg for development. You can setup and run treg with one click on tarvis.io

Treg is really cool. It's a set of stateless APIs to get access to data sources with one single subscription. This is one half of the coin for GTM automation. The other half requires state: webhooks, signals, schedules. Here, a tools like pipe0 or clay still have the edge.

I'm using self hosted mcp-jungle for this.
