Fujitsu Monaka CPU lacks high-performance network mirroring capability
Problem
The user requires a switch that can perform line-rate traffic mirroring for building a high-speed packet sniffer, but Fujitsu previously offered such switches in 2008 and never established related operations in the Americas, leaving the need unmet.
Pain points
- Need for line-rate traffic mirroring network switching hardware
- Fujitsu does not provide corresponding products overseas
Questions to verify
- Is a line-rate traffic mirroring switch required in actual packet capture scenarios?
- Does Fujitsu offer network switches meeting these specifications outside Japan?
- Are there alternative products on the market that can satisfy the same line-rate mirroring requirement?
Evidence
quote
Back in 2008 Fujitsu has one of the best performing 10Gbps Switches. We were building 40 Gbps packet sniffers at Google (4x 10 Gbps NICs) and needed switches that could do things like mirror traffic across ports at line rate. Fujitsu was way ahead of the pack. I always wondered what held them back from building a meaningful networking business in the US.
